Steelies from 85 300 SD into 84 300 D - possible?

Hi!
I have a guy who has a set of these rims and hubcaps and I was thinking that they might be perfect rims for winter tires for my "new" 1984 300 D

Only thing is, he said that they came off an 85 300 SD. I'm not sure if they will fit. I'm kinda surprised though, cos those look like really old-school rims. But if they fit, hey why not

Any help appreciated, thanks!

not those Zu!... those are horrible looking.I've never seen an 85 300SD with those plastic wheel covers most if not all had the bundts.. if the steel wheels are a 14" diameter you could get a proper set of steel, painted to match, wheel covers

that would look a lot better than the plastic wheel covers

Thanks!

Wow! That's a NICE car you have there buddy

I was just looking for something cheap to put my winter tires on, so I thought it wouldn't matter. Besides I was asking too because those rims look like they have a great many number of holes in them and my 300 D only has 5 holes

Thanks for the replies!

not mine (just one I found in a search)

this is mine

the smaller diameter holes on the wheel are for the alignment machine at the Mercedes dealership.. drilling those out to a larger diameter would not be wise

Those plastic wheelcovers are a euro item.
