New wheels & tires for the 126.. Impressed.

I installed the ASA Type 8 with Yokohama AVID H4S' last week. (205/65R15) What a difference over the Michelins. The car is so much quieter, great in the rain again and handles just as well. Only been 1000 miles but great so far.

James, I think his ASA type 8 are knock-offs of the eight-hole MB wheel -- at least that is what it looks like to me from perusing the TireRack site.

They are Korean replicas, but lighter therefore I think better and less expensive than the OEM Bundt.

I was just curious, but I don't think I've seen 8-holes on a 126...only a 124/201.

Here's my 560 with 8-holers. Sorry it's so small-- I can't figure out how to make it bigger. I think they look great, but 16s would have been better!

Sorry guys. Lost track of this thread. I'll put pics up this weekend. Don't remember which Michelins they were. I'll have to check them when I get to work tomorrow. They were only 3 years old.

My car is identical. I had the chrome versions on when I got it. They were pitted, pealing & leaking air. I replaced them with the silver painted versions.

I have the same combination, OEM MB 8-Holes and Yokohama Avid h4s. The tires are great, ride, handle, and are quieter than my BF Goodrich Traction T/A's on bundts.

That was my identical situation, and my solution was identical also.

Tire Rack did well by me. I am very pleased. I made the change in October.

AdvisorGuy.....do you have any pix? I like my chrome ones but I am assuming in a few years I will be in the same situation you were.

And what tires are you running?

Try 5 Michelin HydroEdge tires for your 126, but mount them on 15" rims. They stop in rain as if you were using a magnet on steel! They are the best wet weather tires I've ever used! Safety on the road, especially in the wet is of paramount importance! Their only draw-back is that they are directional…if you can live with that, buy them today!
