Flatulence aside...projectile vomiting as well, yes, sick is good...atleast for a little while.

BTDT.

First, you'll need to chemically strip any clear coat off the wheels, else the paint will peel almost immediately from road debris.

Second, you'll need to use at least a two-part urethane to get good adhesion to alloy.
Powder coat will work much better, but have luster limitations, and can get expensive in terms of prep.

I've also tried a flat coat with "Glisten", and POR product. Hard to shoot, although I only use hi-pressure setup. Perhaps, if I had better control of booth temperature ....

Anyway, its a lot of work to get something you'll want to look at without taking Maalox.

thanx franklyn for the valuable insights. I intended to bead or sand blast the wheels then try the POR 15 approach. perhaps I should rethink this...

Full-black makes the tires look grey, unless you shine them like it's your religion.
The bright rim allows one to get away with merely keeping them clean...
