1986 420sel Wheels

For a 420 sel, if I was to want black rims, I suppose I would have to get 18" rims? have not seen a black mercedes rim look a like thats 15" and under 589 bucks a pop. Has anyone put some economy rims in black on their benz? I need to get rid of my bent chromies that are peeling like an albino with a sunburn.

What are you running right now? 15's or 16's? Unless you think your ride is WAY too soft and you cannot stand your cornering abilities at all I'd only step up an inch, maybe 2. I'm guessing you're on 15's and going to 18's you may not like the new harsh ride. You'll feel a LOT of the bumps in the road you never knew were there.

As for black wheels...you can get these in 17's... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-ADR-J-CROSS-BLACK-5X110-5X112-WHEELS-TIRES-PACKAGE_W0QQitemZ150199883204QQihZ005QQcategoryZ66483QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p 1638.m118
but I'm not sure of the look.

You could try painting your current wheels with the Krylon touch to see what you think about black wheels first...then look into wheels if you like that. You could also pick up some cheap 16's or 17's and have them powdercoated, then put some tires on them and have a really nice looking setup.

I just found a set of original 15" 1986 wheels at the junk yard in decent shape. I'll see what they look like after a thourough cleaning. I want to paint them black, but I'm afraid to make them worse than they are. I don't want anything bigger than 15".
