'00-'02 E430 Wheels on W124

Greetings,
They're MB part # 2104011602, 7.5X17 ET 37 five-hole. I'm assuming they should fit just fine, or? All the measurements line up; any other internal caliper clearance issues? Don't W210 wheels generally work fine on W124s?
Thanks!

Of course I searched, and found nothing specific about this *particular* application. I don't like to assume anything; I gather they'll work from the specs, but the inside shape of the wheel is important for caliper clearance.

kristian - not sure if they will fit, it would be close I think. Main concern is the width - not sure if you will have clearance for all the steering components without rubbing. They may also stick out a fair bit on the W124 chassis. The offset on the stock W124 is either 44 or 49mm, can't remember. So with the 17" rims, you'd be at 37, and the wheels would stick out a fair bit.

I ran 16" 8-holes on my 300E and they fit and looked good. I think anytime you go up 2" from stock, you can get problems. Another issue is whether the stock suspension on the W124 can handle the extra vibration a 17" wheel will bring. You wouldn't have immediate problems, but components may wear out much faster.

I have the 17" sport wheels on my E430. Looking at them compared to the stock rims on my 300E, it's night and day. So I'm dubious as to whether it would be a simple swap without affecting the performance/stock feel.

Your best bet by far would be to try and find someone or an indie shop that has a 17" and will let you swap one on to try.

Here is my 300E with the 16" 8-holes. I think these rims really suit the W124 and they improve the ride/performance without changing it too much. The offset on these is also lower than stock, and you can see how they stick out a fair bit.
