can square tires be brought back?
This car came with very new (don't laugh) Winston Winner tires. Still have the blue on the letters. Dont' know how long the car has been sitting, since I got it at auction. Anyway, they feel square when driving down the road. I swapped with my good ones, and the problem followed the tires. If they have a flat spot, can I drive on them enough to get them to round again? Or, are the tires permanently damaged?
Thanks. |

Keep driving on them for a while. Sometimes they will round out again, sometimes they won't.

Cheap tires are out of round from the factory. It's the dirty little secret of the tire manufacturers. Most vehicles will tolerate the out of round condition and the driver won't notice it because the suspension is compliant. But, M/B are notorious for separating the wheat from the chaff with regard to round or not.
These tires are probably not very good to begin with and you're going to need to issue a real prayer for them to miraculously return to a round condition. |
