I guess they have never seen a Mexican. I've never seen one with a wheel on their head.

They also don't know how to spell tyre, and fill their "Mercs" with "petrol" whatever that is.

Air Biscuit: The British even have a polite name for farts.

Wow, my 600th post involves flatulence. I'm quite the contributer to the Mercedesshop community.

I'm sure all previous responses here are just jokes and nothing more. However, I can't help but think that the urging of these jokes simply demonstrates the bastardisation, or lack of knowkedge, of the English language that continues to flourish here in the colonies.

Anglish

What I can never understand is how the present day residents of Londinium (and the Isles) took French,German,Dutch,Russian AND Latin ( not to mention all the Scandinavian tongues) and came up with whatever they think is "The King's English".

English is a pretty crappy, illogical language anyways.

I don't get what this discussion is about.
You cars are German and thus you should be filling them with diesel or benzin, depending on what the motor under the motorhaube likes.
Your ersatzrad is of course kept in the kofferraum.

Here's another example of how we improved on the langauage: they say windscreen, we say windshield. If it was a a screen the wind would get through and just keep the bug out - its a shield!

The strength of our language is its richness and adaptability. It is constantly changing to meet the emerging needs of the people. That might be partly becuase of the times, but it is also attributable to people who use it.

German is much more utilitarian. There aren't 15 different ways to say everything. And as a side note, in German Pizza Hut translates as "Pizza Hat", and they see the graphic of the roof as such. At least that was the case a decade ago.
