defective tire valve stems?
Has anyone seen an article about 30 million defective wheel valve stems produced in China?
I recall seeing the report along with NHTSA comment a few weeks back |

Yes, happened on my wife's SUV!
Discount tires replaced all 4 tire valves last week for that problem.

Can you specify the metal valve stems for an application on a standard Mercedes-Bemz wheel?

36 million rubber valve stems imported from China starting in August 2006 can crack prematurely allowing for pressure loss. It was discovered in the investigation of a Ford Explorer roll over accident in 2007. The valves in question are distributed by Topseal which is a subsidiary of Shanghai Baolong Industries Co. Ltd for Dill Air Control Products LLC.
we do not use any product which is effected by this recall

That's great (hit myself on forehead) --- I just bought 50 valve stems off eBay! That's where bogus parts like that usually end up!!
