Junkyard Wheel Find!

I've been looking for a set of 15" 15-hole pattern wheels for my 85' w126. The 14's on it look dreadful and I think the newer wheels from the later 126 models look great.

Anyways, I was at a junkyard a couple days ago and noticed a w124 with those same wheels. They weren't squared off like those off of a 190, they were 15" diameter, oval holed and everything.

My question is are these the same wheels? They looked a bit skinny but that perhaps could have just been the tires that were on it making it seem that way.

If they are the same wheel, which I don't think MB would make an almost identical wheel in the same size but skinnier, I will be down at my pick and pull buying them.

I've had to fight hard not to just rush out and get em' but I wanted to run it by all you guys first. Am I on the right track here? THANKS!

The early 124 had oval-holed 15-hole wheel, but they are ET49 which isn't even close to the offset you need.

Why dont you just look for wheels off a W126. They are at the age that they are showing up in the yards. Check for spares, you might be able to pull off a mint set for your car. I'd expect that you should be able to find a set in good condition.

How unfortunate. You know what they say about things that seem too good to be true...

There is only one, yes, one, w126 that I know of in a junkyard close to where I'm at (KC, MO), its an 84 300SD and I've stripped it of everything usable months ago. I have other vehicles so I frequent the junk yards alot. There is an old 280SE, in surprisingly good shape at the same junkyard as the w124 I mentioned earlier.

Somebody had a white 88' 300SE that was hit in the side for sale locally. I contacted them but got no response.

Yes, if I found a w126 in a yard with my wheels I would be all over it.

The 124 wheels wont even come close to mounting up on a 123/126, stay the course and find a 126. Too bad youre not closer, I have a set here I need to sell.
