For best bang for the buck, you may want to consider a model made by Kumho. Personally, I think Mercedes' deserve Michelins. The build of a Mercedes takes advantage of the fine features Michelins have to offer.

195/60R15 is a little too small for a 123. If you want to keep a 60 series tire, then go up to a 205/60 0r even 215/60. I'd be really concerned about the load capacity of the 195's on a 123 chassis. Also, by overall diameter, your car is probably a bit quicker with the 195's but you're turning a few more rpms on the highway.
I had 205/65R15's on my last 123 and have the same size Yokohama AVID H4's on the 126 now. Not a bad tire.

I'm going with some 17" funnel spoke wheels with 225/45/R17's
now I need to mount the sub in the trunk more securely, the Velcro isn't going to hold it that good when I can corner better |

are you certain the tire is sealed to the rim?
Ive seen them done with a sealant that is applied by a brush as well as just held in place by air pressure., im favoring the former on principle. take it back to the installer and have them reseal the tire.

heh.. yea That might help. Because it held air for weeks until they took it off...
I think the sealer would work better than just air |

thats what I had done on my original spare (still holding air to this day, 5 years later) I ran over a piece of road debris shortly after I bought my SL-C and got a nail in my tire, I went to put on the spare to find it was flat and didnt hold air. . I has it professionally sealed with sealant and now I have a 30 yr old spare that holds air. . .

well, if I get the funnel spokes from a member here, he has tires to fit it
if not then I'll settle for the Generals since they are rated first in their class |

If you want to try to run that tire for a while, spend $5 on a bottle of green liquid tire sealer - think it is called Green Slime - and put it in the tire. I have used it a time or two with good success. My mechanic suggests that it messes up the balance of the tire but I can tell absolutely no difference. If it does not work, you have only wasted $5.
Good luck. |

I've decided to go with the Generals only because they have a high rating on tirerack.com, #2 this week.
ok.. question what is the difference between a General Altimax RT http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=General&tireModel=Altimax+RT&partnum=06TR5AMAXRT&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1 =yes&place=7 and a General Altimax HP http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=General&tireModel=Altimax+HP&partnum=06HR5AMAXHP&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1 =yes&place=9 Last edited by TheDon; 07-31-2008 at 11:49 AM. |

General Altimax RT
- Highest speed rating; T (only tire size H rated- 205/60R16) -Touring Tire category - Built for your father's Oldsmobile, Buicks, Datsuns, Toyota Coronas and mini-vans. General Altimax HP - H & V speed ratings; depending on tire size - Grand Touring Tire category - Built for nice cars like yours, Lexus, BMW's, etc, etc - The thread design will make you look real cool and girls will like you better oops, I just read the tire size you want to run (225/45/R17's) and I don't see it in their web site...they might not offer it on this size...
