Wheel Paint Codes

Greetings All ~
I had previously powder coated the 14" bundt wheels on my '84 CD a couple of years ago and they have always looked great.

But I recently sprayed them with some wheel cleaner that immediately took them from the pretty silver to an ugly and splotched dull gray color. I don't think there is any way to save the powder coat paint at this point. And I also think that their was no clear coat put on top of the powder coat.

Since I have the time this weekend, and with very limited funds, I was going to bead blast the powder coat off, and simply buy some paint from the local NAPA paint supply store.

Can anyone help me with the correct paint code for mercedes wheels?

Thanks!

Brad

Search for Wurth Silver Lacquer on Google or whatever. That stuff is perfect. Anything else you use will not be the same as the factory appearance.
Wurth has a two part process, the clear coat is vital to keeping the brake dust and any chemicals and soaps from reacting and making the finish dull or changed in appearance.
I had some wheels painted with a DuPont silver with clear coat applied over that and it looked very nice, but the paint is a hard to find in small quantities. Wurth is around $15 a can but its really good quality

Seems like there was an earlier post which said the color was Arctic something or other. Maybe a month or so ago.

Order it from paintscratch.com. They have the oem color in spray cans. It takes a while to get it, though, because it has to be ground shipped.
