17x7.5 rub-free on 93 400e?

Looking to place these non-staggered wheels which are an inch wider than stock. I don't anticipate any issues being that the 16x8 is considered a stock upgrade (from a 500e), these are a tad narrower, and the car is well-sprung (no worn shocks/springs/saggy bits)

Fair assumption?

Totally depends on measurements. What's the ET number on what you're running now...what size wheel is stock? What is the ET number on the new wheels you're looking at?

I do not know all the anwers which is why I was asking specific questions about a specific chassis and wheels. I do know they are 15x6.5, and the new ones will be 17x7.5, and have been used on a w210 - which I do know is compatible with the 124, but I suppose I'm mainly concerned with the TOTAL dimensions with tires......like whether I should run 215/50s or 225/45s. The guy said he thinks the offset is 37, but if any MB wheel is 37, that's the front spec, meaning the rear will be 30. Standard MB spec is, I believe, 31 on these cars all around for the 15.x6.5.

Personally I always go wider on tires. It just depends how much you want your speedo to be off. Less than 3% I usually could care less about.

Check out this link for tire sizing: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Check this link for figuring the wheel offsets: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp This is vital and should be done BEFORE even thinking about tires. Don't worry if the numbers look pretty large for differences. You can look under your car and see if those differences will matter much.

I've had 3 different setups on my w123's in the last 2 yrs with no problems.
