Goodyear tires???

I need to get a set of 4 tires for the 280CE. I have been thinking about Michelins, Costco can sell them to me for 300 out the door, but I don't have a membership with them. A membership card would run me about 50 bucks.

So H ave been thinking about Goodyear, I called and they have some for around 50-60 bucks a piece. Anyone ever had any good or bad problems with them? Thanks

Costco

Goodyears are for TugBoats...
Michelins are for Mercedes

Without the membership there is a 2% fee
(On your tires cheaper than the $50.00)

If you get the membership:
They'll offer you an American Express Costco Card AND AMEX will give you 3%
cash back on all gasoline purchases.

I used to have Goodyears on my Thunderbird SC. I thought they were pretty good. I think Michelins are probably better, but Goodyear's not bad either.

As I recall, they were not cheap, either.

Goodyear makes a good tire.

My buddy is running a set of Eagle somethings on his modified BMW, and he likes them better than the Michelins he had on it before!

Michelin employs a lot of people in the USA building tires. I travel through Akron, no more rubber smoke, no more jobs. Goodyear is overpriced. Goodyear makes black tires, Michelin makes round tires. I like the Goodyear blimp. It is part of Americana Good Luck

All I can say is when I picked up my 1949 Mercedes 170, which had not been worked on for 38 years, three out of the four Goodyear tires and tubes still held 30 psi.

Skip the Goodyears

I just replaced the OE Goodyear tires on my Audi Allroad, I like Michelins but bought Pirelli P4s 'cause they were only $90 each...to buy the same Goodyears would have cost me $250 each! I never knew how good a car was buried under those tires! It handles, rides and sounds 10x better with the Pirellis. Oh and the reason I replaced them now was one of the Goodyears had a delaminating side wall.

Mercedes Benz autos should never have tires that have the words " Good or Fire" in them... keep it to Michelins or Conti's

I think goodyear eagle LS was standard on my 97 E420. They are a little noisy but have great grip and wear well. I have continentals on my 6.9 and they are rubbish. I have gone 90 degrees sideways on a wet road.

I'll never put continentals on them again. I just bought a set of Goodyear ultragrip for my 450SLC 5.0 for about $250 for four.
