Smile 18" wheel recommendations for 560 SEC

What kind of rims do you think will look good on this car? i would like 18's, but I want something unique, something flashy, but not ghetto, something that can bring out the lines and compliment the car, but not the same kind of rims that everyone else has. I would like Chrome, are there any opinions?
Keep in mind, I am in the younger crowd.

....the question of "style" will entirely be up to your tastes- there's literally hundreds of styles on the market with varying quality and workmanship

safe bets will be TUV standards tuners: AMG, Brabus, etc. (but this is big $$$...so the question now is, "how much money you got?,,, I mean seriously! (lets not all get crazy with the highest quality available the sky may NOT be the limit)

a critical matter to keep in mind though- - the car was never intended to have 18" wheels, & big wheels will affect the SEC (negatively and positively (visually/ maybe handling), but more negatively)....not the least of which it puts tremongous strain on the 200,000+ mile worn bushings, suspension, steering, and braking components (...did I say tremendous...well, .. meant tremongous strain!)

...with more contact patch and less sidewall, the rolling resistance will be increased (read the car may get slower aka less quick),,,the new wheel may be heavier too (read the car may get even more slower) ,...but even with these attributes it may handle better if set up within somewhat kosher plus 3 specs....but the car is probably better suited for profiling vs. street racing anyways

final- try to obtain the highest quality parts and accessories for your MB...after all, it is only as robust as the weakest link and try to avoid spacers while on the subject of aftermarket wheels

good luck and call tirerack if you are a serious player in the wheel market...they have the low down on wheels for your ride and are a sponsor here (read: we can all support all sponsors to keep this site viable)

-fad

oh, you may check with Neil here on this board with the 500e and C36 engined wagon....he may have a set of 8-hole custom 17"s that may do just fine on the SEC

Snoopy,
Check out the Alba Blaze 18". These wheels are sick. When I get the money I'm putting these on my 126. They're triple chrome plated with a 2 year warranty on the chrome. No offense to -fad but don't listen to him . I have 17's on my car and I wish I would have gotten 18's. I've never had a single problem with having bigger wheels and 1" spacers. Your not going to notice your car getting slower, that bs.
Unless you want to be like everyone else stay away from AMG, Brabus, and other Mercedes tuner wheels becuase 99% of Mercedes owners who get rims put these on their cars. Plus I think you can get much better looking wheels for less. Also check out Concept Neeper - Haaz, Fly, Shadow are pretty sick. Most people here probably disagree with my post, just my opinion.

560SEL, Those are the type of rims I like, i used to love all of Neeper's line, but I don't think all of the ones I really like, would look that great on my car. I'm really liking those Alba Blaze's..... Whenever you are ready yo purchase any of these rims or what not, give me an email, and I'll see if my dad can give you a good price. here's some pictures

Arelli Czar:

I'm really liking those Blaze's though, and my dad sells those, so that'll be even better. What are other's opinions on them?
