Luke: Tires for a '77 W123 230
Luke,
I recently bought a W123 230 gas sedan and want to replace the 185/70X14 tires now on the car. I understand the recommended size to replace the original 175X14 tires is 195/70X14. Want to keep it original, no special wheels, etc. and will use the car only as an occasional, good weather driver. Have looked through the offerings at Tire Rack. Don't want to pay top dollar for Michelins and probably don't need a tire with a high speed rating as the top speed of this car is 108 mph! Saw the new Yokohama Avid "S" rated tires for a good price. What do you recommend? Thanks!! OliverB |

in my opinion the 205/70-14 would be a better alternate size for your W123 and in that size there are several good options
I like the Dunlop SP60

Luke,
Supposedly, the stock wheel is 5.5" wide and will only support tires up to 195. |
