DJNEWK2,

I'd a friend too who had Artec 18 X 8 in front and 18 X 10 at the rear on his SEL and NEVER had any rubbing. Both of us hated the way the stock wheels sit so far into the fender, and by using a 10-inch rim, he managed to achieve the staggered look. Very cool!

(DJNEWK2, u actually bought 20's? Wow.....)

THAT's a 126??? I must admit I am a bigger fan of 18's moreso than 19's or 20's (but got 'em because of unbelievably GREAT deals) and actually sold them for MORE than I paid for them.I'm pretty content with wheels "larger" than 16's and 17's because you see more of these sizes on cars from the factory, but not quite the "overkill" of, say, 26's (I've seen 'em),22's or even 20's. I was gonna get the AMG body kit but have opted to go with WALD out of japan instead. I've been in touch with them before when I wet there and just found out they have a distributor here in the U.S. although I'll probably still use my japan connection. If you guys decide to go with body mods check this out...
the U.S. site is http://www.waldusa.com and check out the 126 body kit.My bodykit won't be here until a little after Jan of 2002 but will be worth it when I'm done with her.

WOW, check out waldusa.com like DJNEWK2 said, I love the look of that SEL. Regarding some of the other cars, it's rare to see a car, especially a mercedes that looks good with black wheels, but they pull it off nicely.

Yea they do have some of the tightest looking kits for MB...I had a ball laughing at a so called "master personalization consultant" at an MB dealership I went to visit a friend who works there. As we were talking about things I've done and will be doing to my 560, the body mods came up.Two salesmen tried very hard to convince us that ONLY AMG (if anyone) had body kits for my 126! I told them that my WALD kit was on the way and of course they had to then call in their "Master PC" to confirm the validity of my claim. He then explained to me that only THEIR exclusive distributor could get any "quality" kit because it would be so rare to even find a kit for my car. Then the guy tries to insist on a tired looking, outdated ERIBUNI kit for my car! My friend even said he saw a picture of the kit I was talking about and of course the "master" and the salesmen laughed and said that he was just "supporting" my statements as if he was lying for me! They figured there MUST not have been a WALD company if their "master PC" never heard of it. After this I then went to my car and got my disc I saved the pictures on and pulled it up on my friend's work computer. If you guys could see the faces of the "master" and his cronies! From that moment on, it was "your car will really look beautiful with those mods" where is this place located? Are they MB certified? And all my friend and I could do is laugh at them.I didn't even give them the website addy, we just said for them to make sure they continue to work there until at least Febuary when I drive up to see him again with the WALD kit on it!

DJNEWK2, that's a darn GOOD one u pulled on them! hahahhaa!!

To date, I have seen many bodykits from the passe Erebuni to WALD to other Japanese kits for 126. I too have my fair share of similar experiences where so-called experts brushed off my claim that I could find cool-looking 18-inchers for my 126, saying that nobody does anything for this car anymore. In other words, they're saying that I'm wasting my time and I should listen to their "expert" advice.

What bull! I have seen and researched more rims than they have ever seen, and I can say for sure there are many rims (and bodykits) from Japan (WALD, Leon Hardiritt, River-side, SSR etc.) that has rims for 126-specs. I had a good laff when I read your post, as I could fully understand the situation.

Anyway, choosing the WALD kit is a really good choice. I have a Jap magazine "Downkid 2" that chronicles modified Mercs (126 being one of them), and the WALD 126 looks extremely beautiful.

Show us your pics then!

I would kill to figure out how to attach a damn photo here.It always says its too big although ALL of the photos I see attached LOOK to be bigger than what I try to attach!

Here are some pics of my 126... I lowered the rear another inch after these pictures were taken.
DJNEWK2- I'm also getting the Wald kit. How much is the shipping and how long does it take?

Mike, your pics are missing. How did you lower the rear - did you just adjust the self levelling?

Cheers
Matt.

Matt,
Yeah, I just adjusted the self leveling. What are some free picture hosting sites that allow you to display the image instead of just the link?

Mike- Love your car. Where did you get the clear taillights? I've been searching for some, but I've never found any.

Mike, you're probably gonna be SO MAD at me for this, but one of my buddy owns a shipping company here and the company's gonna pay for it so all I can say is ZERO He's always like "hell, its just a writeoff," and we always have stuff shipped thru him (although we all do favors for each other with the resources/businesses we have so it all evens out). We just shipped a Ducati for another buddy's wife who bought it off of ebay for his bday and it was sitting at the warehouse for two weeks until we snuck it into his garage for his surprise party this past saturday. I don't know when it will be here but sometime in early Jan is when I'm expecting to see it (because that's when I'LL be back in town to get the kit from the warehouse). If it helps, the cost for the bike to be shipped was supposed to be a few hundred and the kit shouldnt be that much depending on whether you want express shipping or not...
