I passed on picking up those wheels. Too much hassle for me. I finally got the guy to measure across the top two bolt holes. As it turns out they fit Ford (5 on 4 1/4") The Benz are approx 5 on 4 3/16" and a no match. I did save myself a 300+ mile trip for nothing though.

Thanks for the info, that's why MBZ shop is so great.

actually, i'm pretty sure that's the size that i have on my 300D right now as 4.5 inches = 114.3 mm. with the hub centric rings and the wobble bolts, all is well and has been for at least 1,000 miles.

Raising this thread from the dead as I am putting a set of R9s on my 124 (15x7 ET35). The stock bolts are all wrong in that they're way too long and have a ball seat. I've read this thread a hundred times so I know 12x1.5 and to allow 17mm to extend out the inside lip of the rim. But I am left with two questions:

As I do not have a conical bolt to test the length with I'm using my ball seat lug (the one that's too long). It's easy enough to measure 17mm on the back but based on the fact that the ball seat is not sitting into the wheel as much as the conical will it's not entirely accurate. What sort of correction shall I make for this? 2mm perhaps?

Second question is when I get the measurement and go to order online is the length I'm measuring JUST the lug shank? Not the conical part? Or is it from the outside edge of the cone? Not from the tip of the hex bolt I assume.

Thanks in advance.

Ok I got my second question answered with a bit more web sleuthing. And I'm about to pull the trigger on 2mm allowance based on the ball seat not fitting in as far as it ought to.
