in other words, you can buy audi wheels which have 5x112 bolt patterns, and pay a machine shop to bore down the hubs, and voila--you instantaneously have access to triple or quadruple the amount of wheels you otherwise would have had access to. nice thread by the way. just read it even though it's an old one. |

it's old but i planned on updating it with any issues. no issues at all this whole summer. original abs plastic rings still on, no wobble, no problems, no uneven tire wear down! i'm sold, no matter what some might say.

What you did was fine because of the close "enough" bolt pattern. You must have had the 114's. If you had had the 120 bolt pattern, it would never have fit, even with the adapters. Wobble bolts just don't have enough give to go that far safely.

they don't have enough room to do that, period. they won't go over 2mm and change in any direction, that's why they work for this application and only applications that have that small amount of space.

Reading this makes me want to run out and buy tires for the 15" ronal's sitting in my garage right now...trying to be patient and save a little money. That and debating on whether or not to have the wheels refinished or leave as-is...which is potentially more money.
