W124 rims size

I'm looking for the specifications for the rims that come standard on an 1989 W124 300CE. I picked up a set of four rims so that I could install summer tires, in addition to the factory fifteen hole style that the car originally came with (currently wearing winters). In any event, it appears that the ones I picked up for my summer tires do not have the same offset as the factory spec ones. They appear identical to the ones that fit (15" 15 holes). What are the specs for the factory rims? The rims in question don't appear to have sufficient clearance on the front as they are rubbing the front calipers, but they are fine on the rear. Is it okay to be running a different offset on the rears?

I believe your original wheels are ET49.

I'm guessing that these are likely from a W201. The W126 came equipped with 16" 15 holes, correct? I'm going to swap them back to the original set, no sense in keeping these since they only clear the rear.

If you care to have a look at the link I posted you will find that the W126's wheels use a completely different ET than W124.

201s had 6" wide rims, 124s had 6.5". The sportline versions came with 7" wide wheels. All wheels were 15" except the 500E had 8"X16" wheels. The off set (ET) was 49 mm until 1994 when it changed to 44 mm.

mbzman, the 15-hole wheels on our 1991 300CE are 6 1/2 J x 15 H2 with a 48mm offset. Check the Technical Data in the back of your Owner's Manual, but I would bet the same wheels are on your 1989 300CE.

The early 124 15-hole wheels were 6-1/2J x 15 ET49. Holes are oval-shaped (like 126 wheels).
Later 124 15-hole wheels had rectangular-holes like 201 wheels, were 6-1/2Jx15 ET48.
The last 124 wheels were the 8-hole wheels, 6-1/2J x 15 ET44, as were the 6-spoke '95 Special Edition wheels.
Excluding 500E.

Early 201s had 5" wide rims, specifically 5Jx14 H2 ET 50, MB part number 201 400 07 02 with a 'standard' tire of 175/70R14 84S, or at least that is what is stamped on the inside of my spare tire.
