Steel Valve Stems for Bundt Cake Rims

I was wondering if the NAPA 90-432 Universal Tubeless Clamp-In Tire Valve would fit in the bundt cake rims on my 1984 300SD. I scanned in the package for you to see. I understand that the Mercedes rims take a special tire valve. Anything else would leak. But what about these?

I have installed one of these steel valves stems on a Pontiac rim when the rubber stem suddenly burst while the car was parked. These steel valve stems look great for $2.49 each. This one has been on the rim for 3 years now without a problem. I like the idea that a steel stem cannot burst like a rubber stem.

Thanks.

I'd just use the rubber valve stems, I've never seen one blow like you said. Mercedes uses a standard stem every tire shop has in stock. the leaks, if any, usually occur in the valve that's why you should replace the valve caps/cover.

Steel Valve Stems

I just installed clamp in metal stems in a set of Ronal Penta's.
The first try was with stems that were listed to fit a .453 hole. The problem was that the rubber seal rings were stepped....the smaller diameter did in fact fit the .453 stem hole but the larger outside diameter and washers were too large to fit in the space available.
What I ended up using was Enkei clamp in valves # 24117 purchased thru Myers Tire Supply locally. They fit perfectly.
They have a website by that name

Thumbs down Test Results

The NAPA 90-432 Universal Tubeless Clamp-In Tire Valve will not work with the bunt cake rims. The nut that clamps the stem down is too big to fit in the rim. I ended up installing standard TR413 rubber stems, and they do not leak.
