Wheel lug bolts '99 E320

Now that MB doesn't supply my lug bolts anymore (extended head type). Does anyone know of an indy supplier with the original spec bolt? I am finding a few chromed sets out there (the pics all look like they come from one supplier) but the details on them do not mention that they meet strength specs, etc. (they DO mention how pretty they will look mounted on my car though).

I did find a Chinese exporter who will sell me some of theirs (1000 min. order, I don't own that many MBs) but again, no specs.

They look great, just be sure you know where they are made. If they're from China, stay away. I have experience buying chinese made fastners for industrial use and they were a disaster! It was against my better judgment, but management insisted as the prices were very low. When they arrived at our factory they were beautiful, looking exactly like the ones they were replacing; however, within a few weeks of shipping product incorporating them, the returns started. In the end we had to recall the entire production run. When we had the fastners tested they had less than 1/4th the strength of our U.S. made versions.

Yeah, I hear you.

I have a strong suspicion about cheap structural items from China.

They have insufficient self-policing going on and a lot of cr*p is getting shipped out as evidenced by the painted toy & pet food fiascos over the past 2 years.

They are like Japan was in the 1950's. Exporters of cheap *****. Too bad the good manufacturers over there will suffer for the sins of the bad.
