which tire for my w124?

Hi everybody,

i have a mercedes w124 230E.i bought 17x7.5 alloy wheels and is now going to buy tires.at tire track,it is recommended to put 215/45/17.I want to buy michelin tires but do not know which one is best.I have the choice between the michelin pilot sport a/s plus and the pilot exalto pe.

Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 (Ultra High Performance Summer)

* Size: 215/45ZR17
* Load Range: XL
* Blackwall
* ZR Speed Rated
* Serv. Desc: 91W
* UTQG: Treadwear: 240
Traction: A

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus (Ultra High Performance All-Season)
* Size: 215/45ZR17
* Load Range: XL
* Blackwall
* ZR Speed Rated
* Serv. Desc: 91W
* UTQG: Treadwear: 500
Traction: AA
Temperature: A500 AA

i need a tire which will not cause loss of gas mileage and also a tire which will protect my rims due to the low profile size.

waiting for a quick reply.

thanks a lot,

steven124

Steven, based solely on the information you listed for each tire I would choose the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S because it has better Traction and Treadwear ratings.

my final choice is the michelin pilot a/s plus.

I wish that i will be happy with these tires.
The only thing which i fear is if the pilot a/s plus will cause loss of speed.
