Wheels for W126
I know this is a beat to death subject, but I'm turning up the gain in shopping for newer wheels for the '89 420SEL. Have about given up on finding a period set of 16" or 17" AMG's, so now considering running a set of staggards if they might fit.
Specs are: front 17x7.5 et37 rear 17x8.5 et30 I got a feeling from reading the archives the fronts might not fly. Thoughts on this idea? You would need 3/4" between the wheel and the tierod on the existing wheel to have the clearance for the new wheel. I doubt that you have it.
On the rears, although it might fit, the 1.5" larger width is going to look a bit ridiculous in the available space. The tires required to fit that wheel width will be huge. |

those should bolt on with out the need for spacers. I have a stagard set up on my w126 with similar offset. in the front the tie rod(s) ends up being inside the wheel(s).
