Tire pressures on fuel door

I had some time while filling (pump was s-l-o-w )and read the tire pressures listed on the fuel door. What caught my attention was for prolonged speeds over 100mph add 4psi 560sle you say !? How about 240D stick !! possibly wrong door ???

Has anybody had to use this advice in a 240? Me thinks I might hear a scottish accent coming from the engine room if so !!!!!!

If you run 100 mph over a prolonged period in a 240 D, you'll have problems other than tires!

If you're running 90 MPH

in a 240D ,You need to radio the Tow Truck that's pulling you to slow down!

I did it on the way home from buying my 300SD that had been sitting under a cover for a couple of years. Reckless and dangerous? Probably a little. I was just excited to feel the turbo power and the black smoke from the tune up coming out the back put a grin ear to ear!

I definitely agree though - the rear ratio on these things is too high. I'd like to replace mine but I'm afraid there are far more important things to address first on both of my vehicles!

It's probably there because it's easier to make and stock one sticker for the whole W123 lineup than to have a few different ones just because certain models can't do 100+ mph.
