W211 18" wheels on a W210 do fit!

When deciding whether to try and fit stock w211 18” staggered wheels on my newly acquired 99’ E300 w210 I found a lot of conflicting info. Some folks said they’d fit, others said I’d need spacers, some said they’d rub, others said they wouldn’t fit at.
Well I’m happy to report that they do fit, I didn’t need spacers, they don’t rub, and I think they look great. The big factor was going down to a 235/40/18 tire in the front (stock tire was a 245/40/18). When I bought the wheels used they came with the stock tires and I wasn’t able to get them on in the front (the tire just barely rubbed on the upper ball joint stud that points down). With the 235/40 tires there is plenty of clearance. I did use Rad bolts with the 12mm shank and 14mm seat, which worked great. On the inside, the wheel and tire is pretty close to the spindle arm, but they do clear. I’ve had them on for a few thousand miles now and I have had no issues. I have some cell phone pics from a few days ago to share and can take some better pics including the clearances on the back side when I get a chance (and maybe wash the car). Wheels are 18x8.5 in the front and 18x9 in the back (rear tires are 265/35/18).

glad the tire/wheel combo worked for you. just for future readers, the fit
still may or may not work for your 210. here's why.... depending on the
rim and tire models, the combination is so close to the critical maximum
size that, depending on....

- the actual tire profile
- the actual ET and wheel width
- the actual wheel model
- the specific 210 model you own
- the condition of your 210 bushings, shocks, and springs, etc

...the 211 tire/wheel combo may either rub on the inside, or scrape the
wheel arch upon deep compression

some folks have had to go with 235 tire. so just be aware that when you're
trying to use a 211 rim on your 210, you really need to have a sheet full of
specs in hand and prepared to make some tweaks before success can be
ensured.
