235-45-17 on a 400E?

I picked up a set of AMG monoblock II today, there in rough shape and will need refinishing. The tires on there are 235-45-17! Will those tires fit a 92 400E?

I used to have the same size tires on my 400E. They were fine when the car was at stock ride height. Once lowered, however, they were too large for the front and they rubbed. The rears were still okay. Obviously this all depends on the offset of your wheels-- mine are et35.

225/45/17 is the same rolling diameter as stock and will work on a lowered car. 235 will work on a non-lowered car, as Legoisaniac stated.

I run 235/45/17 on my non-lowered (yet) 300TE and it only rubs on large dips in the road, otherwise its rock solid.
