Choosing the best CT powder coating shop.
I was cheap about 4 years ago and got my wheels painted as opposed to powder coating and now i'm starting to get considerable peel on a few of them. This time around i'm going to do it right and get them powder coated (At which point i'm going to wax them as well for extra protection against brake dust....) The problem now is choosing the best shop to do the job. A quick google search shows that there are quite a number of shops in my area and so far i've narrowed my choices down to two.
http://www.centralctcoatings.com I talked to a random VW owner last week who had his wheels done at this shop. (They looked pretty good) They list alloy wheels at $30-75 each. http://www.beckerspowderhouse.com/ Now keeping the cost low is a priority but I want this to be the last time I have to touch these wheels for a decade at least. What sort of questions should I be prepared to ask when I go down to these places looking for a quote?

Give Rob up at the Wheel Shop in Windsor Locks a call (860) 623-8442...he'll know who to trust to do it right.
He repairs, re-finishes, and sells wheels. He might even be set-up now to PC wheels but I'm not sure; haven't needed to visit him since last year, thankfully. Good luck. |
