Smile lug bolts 2007 c280

HI,
i need a set of lug bolts size M12x1.5 with 28 mm shank. I just bought a set of alloy wheel with winter tires ( blizzack 205 55 r16 ws60) a good deal. my curent bolt thread is M12x1.5 39MM shank. The one I bought calls for M14x1.5 mm.
Does anyone know if it is safe to use M12x1.5 thread as long as the thread safety requirement is met?
thanks for viewing

tambo, recommend you return the new wheels/tires. Using a smaller diameter lug bolt is definitely a safety hazard because the seating area will be smaller, the seat contour may not match and the bolt is undersized.

It's always best to use genuine MB wheels which are hub-centered, as opposed to bolt-centered. If the new wheels you bought are bolt-centered you will increase the safety risk by using undersized (smaller diameter) lug bolts.

It appears you're trying to write that the wheels you bought are for 14mm diameter bolts and you want to (have to) use 12 mm diameter bolts.

You can do this, but you must purchase special aftermarket studs with the ball seat made for the 14mm wheels.
