Wheel advice for 500sel. Pics

Most of you probably know which cars these wheels originally came from and their specifications so if you could help me out with the choice that looks best and will also be the easiest to change to from 14" flat face wheels (single wheel picture). I am also curious as to if my current wheels are stock or not because I have seen similar styles but they do not have the center plate/cap that screws on with a hex screw as you can see in the picture.
Thanks.

If anyone has has a side profile of their car and side pictures of wheels that they would want to put on their car, if you email them to me I can do the same thing I did in my pictures.
Thanks.

The 8 holes ont he top look great ont he car.

The sl 12 holes also look very good.

The rest I don't care much for.

Your wheels would be the stock 15 hole wheels, in either 14" or 15" size, looks to me like its 14".

16" 8 holes really look great on the w126, r107, w201, and w124 cars.

I say go for the 8 holes from tirerack!!!

If going OEM MB Wheels, it might be hard to find ones with the right offset for your car.

me too...

I also like the 8 holes (thats why they are the first picture). I can get them for 225-250 for a set of four (replicas) used 16x8 with 36mm offset. I know I will need a 15mm (will 10mm work?) spacer if I get those and right now 225 per wheel from tirerack is too much. I also need to know what size tire to put on to keep the same or similar ride height (maybe a little lower).
Thanks.

would those work? I think they are 8mm.

Dude I have a full set of AMG replicas from Bekkers that are 17x7.5 with the correct offset 25mm. I will sell them cheap if you are interested including a spare. Thats a total of 5 wheels. They are not perfect but they still look great.

Your car looks very similar to mine, except the wheels. Anyway I think you should go with Mercedes replica wheels, all the others look very ricey.

I never got a reply from him so I guess he is not interested. Hey maybe I can find a 420SEL without self leveling rear and use the wheels my self. Do these babies accelerate fast enough for you guys?

Cardude, why do you want a 420 with no self levelling? The self levelling is pretty simple and reliable. My 560 is a euro so it is rated at 300hp so it accelerates pretty well :-)

Mattman, I thought that the self leveling was a problem when lowering these cars!

I think self levelling is an advantage when lowering as you can then load up the car or tow and you don't have to worry about the car bottoming out on driveways and the like as the rear won't drop. I am pretty sure that both Eibach and H&R make rear springs for those with self levelling.

Matt.

Ok, here is what happened to me when I lowered my 300TE the self leveling system raised the car to the previous height. I had to make numerous adjustments to the swaybar link.

I have heard rumours about a Rentech or Brabus self levelling valve being required as well. The Eibach application chart I think says this valve is required but I haven't heard anyone talk about it and haven't seen it listed anywhere.
