What do you do with BENT oem wheels?

I have 2 bent 16" oem alloy wheels. I realize I could pay $150 each to have them "refurbished" but if I just replace them with 2 from a salvage yard what do I do with them? Other than the pothole damage they were like new...? Is there someplace that buys them to refurbish them? Can they be recycled somehow? I don't want them pitched in a landfill somewhere... -John

Scrap yard. Or call your local wheel refinishing place, they will also take them off your hands (and give you a few $$ too) because they can refinish and re-sell at a huge margin,

Whether their margin is "huge" depends on the hourly rate they pay themselves. If it's the same as yours or mine, it's probably not huge.

Since you have two, keep the tires on them and get a thick round glass and make a coffee table out of the stack of two wheels and thick round glass "table top"

I like the coffee table idea. Conversation piece if nothing else- I showed them to a neighbor (the guy who drove out and picked us up in 15 degree weather and snow to pick us up after I hit the pothole) his response "HOLY S***!" But I don't think the wife would approve.

I'm also wondering if the tires are any good- they were/are like new, and I can't see any damage...

I have an Indy car tire and a top fuel slick in the garage waiting for coffee table approval. I can't even get permission to put one out by our burn pit in the field!!

With steel rims, I've had good success cold working them back into shape. The process involves a pair of ear plugs, a large sledgehammer, and whatever pent up frustrations you may have. Of course, this was in Afghanistan on trailers that seldom saw the far side of 45 mph. I wouldn't try it with alloy wheels, so yeah-scap yard or the coffee table idea.
