Replacement Rims for 1990 300D (W124)?

Hi,

I have a 1990 300D (W124) that has the factory 15 inch rims. The current rim size is 6.5J x 15 with ET 48 (offset). I would like to replace the rims with the 8 hole pattern that was used in the 94 & 95 W124's.

Would a rim from a 1998 C230 fit my car? The size of most 8 hole rims seem to be 7J x 15 with ET 37. I am concerned that the wider rim may rub on the front strut or other suspension parts.

What MB model and year car with 8 hole rim would fit my car? Thanks.

Louis

I got 8 hole rims from tirerack for my 126. They even accept the MB logo in the center. They are 16in and I think they look great

Just make sure you get the right lug bolts for the replacement rims. They have a different offset.

the CLK 7 holes fit perfect in my wagon. TAD wide in the rear... I think they are 8"
I also got a set of rims from a 95TE 16" fit great.

The '95 E320 wagon came with 15" 8-hole wheels John, what wheels did you get?

Another wheel option

I put 16" 10-hole wheels from an early (1996-99) W210 on my '87 300D Turbo (W124, OM603) and think they look great. With 205/55-16 tires, the diameter is within 0.5% of stock so no odometer correction is necessary. As a bonus, the wheels are identical to those on my wife's '96 E300D so I can swap in an emergency.
