Ongoing: Rim choice made size/style.. Not color though.
Let me start off as saying I am somewhat of a wheel whore as well as a euro spec bastard with my cars. I bring a different taste in styling to my Mercedes' over the normal conservative approach.
Anyway... The subject this time out is of my 87' 560SEL... She's 040/Palomino and I have had multiple wheels on her.. As most know when bought from the P-O/O it came on those ugly 15" 15 hole wheels IMO.. Wheel history.... She immediately got serviced and dropped 2" front and 1 1/2 rear and SLS had been binned... Euro items as in lights and bumpers had been attatched (the latter recently). Upgraded to VIP style.. This is her wheel history... last is current until the new wheels go on in May. 16x8.25" 500E 8 holes with 225/50/16s Sumitomo HTR-Zs 18x8.5" AMG/BBS Aero II 2 piece on 225/40/18 Continental SC3's 16x7.5 forged with 205/55/16's Michelin MXM's 17x8.5"/17x10.5" AMG/OZ Aero classic (rears widened) All within 2 years... then tonight, I made my decision going back to 18" again as I personally like the look of the wheel diameter over the 17" size. I am not too concerned with the comfort as my shocks are tuned and stiffly valved to match the custom springs. What I want to know though is.... What is best to you enthusiasts, Body colored faces (mine is 040 mind you) with polished lips on the wheels or silver face with polished/silver lips?? Post your pics.... Cheers, Chris
