Dear friends,
Just wondering if anyone has an opinion about which tires are best to put on a w123 MB (1984 300d) with standard factory wheels (non-alloy). Thanks in advance, David Rayment. |

When I put Michelin MXV4s on my car (78 300CD) it handled like it had never before. It is one of the recomended tires for the 123. I understand that Michelin has discontinued that particular tire but has replaced it with a similar one. In prior years I had put on $75 tires (Pirellis, Continental's etc.) but never felt it was up to Benz handling.. I thought it was just the way the car was. When I switched to the MXV4 it made it was like driving a different car... a pleasant change and well worth the extra $30 a tire.
Good Luck, Dennis 1978 300CD 1990 350SDL |

As Dennis said...Michelin MXV4. I think its current name is "Energy MXV4-Plus". It is supposed to be improved here and there over its predecessor. I think Tirerack just did a review on it. http://www.tirerack.com

Thank you Dennis and Lee!
I'll check to see if the Energy MXV4-Plus is available here down under. Regards, David. |
