Will these wheels fit?

Will the stock wheels from a 1990 300E fit on a 1985 500SEL?

From memory, no... The offset is different and the inside of the rim nearly touches the tie rods at the front of the car.

aloha downsmith...

The chart I usually refer to (www.autotrixx.com) says that both the 1990 300SE and the 1985 500SEL have a 20mm offset. If that is true, they may fit.

Aloha,

The 300SE and 500SEL are both W126 cars so the wheels are interchangeable. The 300E is a W124 car. I think the deeper offset wheels will fit but it might put an undue load on the bearings. Plus it might look silly. For your SE, stick to 15-hole wheels with oval holes, not rectangular holes. Look at the types of wheels closely and you'll see what I mean. Oval hole wheels come in 6.5" and 7" widths. It doesn't matter which width you get but do get a matched set.
