15x7 or 15x6.5 Rims on a 190E Sportline? Does it really matter?
I was just given some nice rims from a 93 300E that are 15x6.5". They look like new! My 15x7 rims on my 190E 2.6 Sporline look rather worn out from a dull finish, but are wider. The questions is, can I put the 15x6.5 with the stock tire size (205/55X15) with little performance loss? Will they fit ok? I like the 15x7 size, but these other wheels look so much better.
Thanks, |

Nope, shouldn't matter; doubt if you'd even notice the difference driving. I upgraded my old regular 190E 2.6 15 hole 6.5" rims to the Sportline 7" wheels and tire size...never heard of anyone going the other way though. Check the offset that is stamped on the back of the rim to be sure, should be close if not the same.Slap 'em on and enjoy...

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think it was really going to matter. I know the offset if different by 5mm, too. But again, that seems so minor. I'm certainly going to keep the same tire size. These replacement rims, while they are the same style, are in almost mint condition and are begging to be put on the car!
Thanks again. |
