1993 300E Wheels
I have a 1993 300E with stock 15 x 6.5" - 15 Hole wheels and have recently purchased a used set of 15 x 6.5" with ET44- eight hole wheels. While having them installed, the mechanic told me there was very little room between front brake calipers/housing and wheel. In my opinion they are "dangerously close". Is this the right size eight-hole wheel for this vehicle? Is there a better fitting eight-hole wheel with more clearance? The rears appear to be ok.

Per my Owner's Manual for a 1992 300CE the 300E wheels have an ET of 48mm.

Ferdman,
The stock 15 hole wheels I have on them are indeed ET48. Are there 8 Hole wheels with an ET48? |

If it clear, it works.
My 300CE have dual pistons on the front, it looks as the calipers are touching the rims. Jack |

So I shouldn't be concerned that "it's dangerously close" as long as it doesn't make contact with caliper it's good to go.....? Or as you say, "if it clears, it works". Because mine like yours, looks like calipers are touching the rims too, but their clear.
