Question Tires for C320

I've got a 2002 C320 with the Sports packge. The stock wheels and tires are 7.5x16 and 225/50 respectively. Can I go with a larger width and a lower profile on the stock wheel?. If yes, what's the max?

Thanks to all in advance.

225/50/16s are about as max as you can get. If you had the 205/55/16s, would have said goto 225/50/16s. Next thing is 225/45/17s on a plus 1 up front, and 245/40/17s in the rear (C32 setup)

Other then that, just sportier tires will make a diff.
