Thanks to all for the direct to the search for "spring pads". Apparently my problem is that the Eibach (pro kit) springs were installed with the stock pads......DOAH! Hey we all live and learn right? Two questions. Does anybody know what the pad specs are for my 89 190 (W201)? What was the oem setup? Since my car seems to ride higher in the front maybe just using the shortest pad for the front would cure my problem? Or, same size all around? Second question. I will be going to 16" in the near future. I read all the posts saying that many people had to re-install larger pads due to the larger wheel diameter. Keeping in mind that I will go to 16's at some point in time how will that effect the pad size now? Thanks

In my opinion, I would go to the dealer and the should be able to tell you what pads should correct the height issue just by measuring how much the difference is and having a pad replaced up front that incorporates the difference. As for going to 16" wheels, it really depends on what kind of wheel, tire, and offset. People use 225/45/16 are the ones who usually run into more problems with rubbing. I always recommend 215/50/16 becuase it is a little taller but the width is usually the problem. It will also make for a better ride. With the 16" wheels, their should be no change in the balance of height of your car's front and rear.

My suggestion: If you are going to get the 16" wheels, do it ASAP and then have the dealer install the pads. If you don't plan on doing the wheels now, then only adjust the front properlly and then when your 16" wheels are on have the car readjusted if needs be do to any rubbing, or lowered enough so that the car will not rub, but will sit lower.
