2.3-16 tires
I am putting new tires on my 2.3-16 with 16x7 rims. i have tried 225-45-16 but they wore out too fast and now I have 225-50-16 which rub from time to time in the front. What options do I have? Can I run 215-50 in the front and 225-50's in the rear(which don't rub. I am more concerned with comfort and longivity these days more than performance.
Thanks, John |

Maybe have a body shop roll the inside of the fender in the front if that's where it is rubbing. Sometimes, different tires have different shapes to their shoulders even though the sizes are the same numbers...I've had the same experience as you on other cars...can be frustrating. 225s sound too wide for that car but I'm not entirely sure of that...my old 190E 2.6 could only fit 205s on front and 215s on back but it was lowered and had 17x7.5 AMG rims on it. Maybe a 225/45 in the rear if you have 215/50s in front...to keep it looking level.
