Wheel Lug Bolts vs Studs
Hi,
I am wondering why MB's use wheel lug bolts instead of studs with lug nuts. I dread each time I have to remove the wheel and having to line up the bolt hole. Is there an easy method to mount the wheel without having to go through this tedious procedure of lining up the bolt hole? Thanks, Randal

Mercedes provides an alignment bolt in your tool kit. You screw it into a hole and then mount the wheel using it as a guide. It is long and has a nice machined grip to it. Its very light and made out of alloy. A lot of people I know have no idea that this is in their tool kit and if they do, they have no idea what its for

Yal,
I thought that my tool kit was complete but I don't have the alignment bolt. Was it included with all cars? Seems like a great idea. Does it have a part # I would like to get one or two. Gary |

You can to your local MB parts person, or find one on ebay.
