Tires for 95 E320 Wagon
Currently looking for tires for my two W124 Wagons. The last sets of tires i bought for them are possibly the worst tires i've had. They were a mistake. BFgoodrich advantage T/A's.
My requirements for a tire are stiffer sidewalls, I do a lot of loaded long distance driving and like snappier handling. Also they must perform well enough in the snow. The Goodrich's are absolutely horrible in both of those respects. They have way to much wallow and in even minor snow they are just plain worthless. Based on the research for the stock tire size, 195/65 R15, there is really only one option that seems to fit my bill. The Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S. What are people experience with these. On another note, is it worth it getting 16 inch rims in order to get a broader selection. Thanks for the help, Greg

There are always plenty of relatively inexpensive OEM 16" options from newer W210s or CLKs on Craigslist. 205/55/16 tires would be an easy upgrade.

I've been pretty pleased with my last two sets of Bridgestone Turanzas, 195/65-15 on Linda's 95 E320 wagon.

I also have two W124...a 91 TE and a 95 320. Over the years I found the Potenzas to give the best bang for the buck. B.F. Goodrich...second worst!
The worst were the set of Falkens that originally came with the 95 when I found it. Those tires were horrible!
