These look exactly like the EVOII wheel used on the '97 SL500 Limited and some '94 E500's. Are they almost identical? Also, can you put the Mercedes wheel "cap" on the middle of it so it looks real? Thanks.

Also, if I wanted to do the 16 x 7.5" on the 260E in the Borbet Type C, which tire would work best, 205/55/16 or 225/50/16? Thanks.

Here is a picture of the Borbet Type C. They look similar, but you can tell the difference. They 6 spokes are more flat with the wheel on the EVOIIs. As for the center caps, you most likely should be able to, but check with Luke on that. For the C280 & 260E the 225/50/16 should be a good size. Just like before wider is better for handling. If you are looking for some wheel upgrades, here are some from ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=311838499 These are off an SLK, and I have seen them on C-class cars. Do to the 16x8 in the rear, they would only fit your C-class. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=311185167 These are some hot wheels. They come in either 16x7 ET 37 all the way around or 8x16 ET 36 in the rear and 16x7 up front. Either setup would fit the C-class again, however, If you have the 16x7 at all 4 corners, then they would fit your 260E as well. They are dirt cheap too, and are original AMG/Mercedes wheels as well, so the MB cap will fit right on. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=311726033 These are the OZ Wheels that look very similar to the AMG Aero II Monoblocks, but alot more modern. I would check with the seller about the specs. I believe they are 17x8 and would fit fine on either your C-class or your E-class, except its not listed to fit your 260E on TireRack's page. I would check with them and see why or why not. In either case the wheels would cost well over $1100 without tires. Also, I would sell the 215/45/17 to anyone who has a 190E 17" set-up and put 225/45/17 if it goes on the C-class, or 235/45/17 if it goes on the E-class. You also have TireRack's MB Replicas. Good Luck. ------------------ Chirag (Charlie) Patel - 99 Mercedes-Benx ML 430 V8 w/custom TV, Video, UHF, speaker system - 93 190E 2.6 (4-sale) w/ an amp, equalizer, and CD-changer, integrated w. stock stereo for integrated cellular phone speaker system - had a 93 190E m103 3.2, 5-speed trans, - had a 88 300E 2.6 - had a 84 300TD w/275k+ miles - 2001 C-Class - Maybe (if 190E sells) |

I do not have a MBZ center cap for the Borbet Type C wheel. The center hole is not the aorredt diameter to allow the standard MBZ center cap to fit.
Thanks, Luke |
