I propose a new sticky for MB wheels

I use the terms "rim" and "wheel" interchangeably, even though a snob on the VW forum called me out on it.

What I am proposing is a chart that would help every MB driver who wants to find out which wheels/rims will fit his/her car

Hear me out.
A chart that might start with, for example:

(years) (chassis) (model) (rim specs) (OEM tire size)(ET/Offset) (Backspace) (notes/comments)

(74-78) (W123) (240) (6.5jX14) (27.5") (185-70R14) (XXmm) (YYmm)(steel rim)

There would be other listings for the 240D with Bundts or 300 with steel, auminum or Bundt wheels)

I recognize no one can know all this but it would make some things easy and avoid disapointment.

I want to get a second spare for my 350SDL but need to know what kind it is. Plus I don't know the OEM size for the tires, even though the tires on there are quite good.

Whaddaya say, guys?

We can kind of plan this together and I will volunteer to make a chart and the moderator(s) can put it where they want once I finish compiling.

The idea is to help out group. Plus much of the info is in the service manuals but not all.

Let me know what you think.
I plan to do this also for the VW people who have Bugs or Things, because I need them for myself, plus I am putting VW rims on a Citroen because the metric 400mm tires are $400 a piece.

Wow strelnik, great idea! I'm glad we're doing this to help each other, rather than wasting time talking about Trump's combover....

Thanks fonzi, this is a great chart and lays out the wheels for the W201, but nothing for any W123. I know the bundts have an ET of 30, but the steelies are less and I still don't know the length of the lug bolts.

Thanks for a good solution! Onward to W123 info!

Wow. I never caught that the chart doesn't have anything for the 114/115, 123, or 116 models. It even has w108 and w111 and w126. So it's strange that they skip the w116 and don't include anything for the early e-series'.
