They will bolt-up, but will stick-out about 1/2 an inch. I ran 500E stock wheels with 205/55ZR16 tires for about a year. Lot's of road rash thrown on the fenders. Get MB mudflaps if you decide to run them.

The most for all W124's except the 500E is 7.5-inch wide wheel with an offset (ET) between 37-41. An ET 35 is OK, but IMHO marginal. You want 37 or 41.

I have no problems with a 16x7.5 and offset of 35 on my 300ce.

They fit nice, and are just fine.

I will be replacing them sooner than later anyway with 17's

keep in mind ....

that the OE 500E wheel is an 8x16, not a 7.5, and the combination of the width and the offset is what prevents it from working well. To me, when someone asks if it will "work", the answer is not the same as will it "fit". Just because it bolts up doens't make it an appropriate application. 129 (essentially 126) offset wheels will "bolt up" to a 124, but look goofy and cause tremendous tire and suspension wear problems. Save your money and get something correct, you'll be much happier in the long run. Hope this helps, allen.
