I have a 1987 420SEL and am looking to buy new rims. I plan on buying used OEM rims but am unsure as to what rims will fit this year of car. Do mercedes have the same bolt pattern throughout the years. Currently I have 15" rims but would like to go to 16" or maybe 17" but not sure if 17" would be to large. Any help or recommendations would be appreciated.

I believe the w126 had lower offsets somewhat similar to the r129 (90-02 SLs)

The tires that come with it are also a close fit, since you need 235/45/17s, and these are 245/45/17s.

Those are 17s that should work.
