I just looked up front rotor dia.

99 E300 300 mm
98 E320 300 mm

97 C280 288 mm

I know that 15" wheels just clear the 288 mm rotor so it is believable that the 300 mm won't. ( I was thinking of running 14" on the C because I have plies of them for my mini truck. )

I looked , as Carson would say, " . . . on another network ". These are rotor sizes not hub to caliper OD.

Found a set of rims. But not near home and seller doesn't know BCD. They look like Ronals. Anyone know if BCD is stamped on rims somewhere?

ADDED: Found a site confirming these are Ronals, 5x112, but 57mm centerbore (:

Found a set of wheels and tires off a C230 Kompressor for use in winter. Pic below on E320. Tires are 225/45R17 all round. E320 should have 235/45R17 on 17" rims, but these are snows, so narrower not a problem. Diameter almost same as original 215/55R16s. Rims are staggered 7.5/8.5 but don't see that as a problem.

Should work on 85 300D, if need be. But gasser with ABS/ASR etc is a better winter car.

Nice!

Looks good. Where did you find them? No rubbing with the staggered wheels?

They were advertised locally on Kijiji (like CL). I checked them out using the usual site before buying.

Unusual to have staggered rims with same size tires all round, but with the different offsets, wheels are no closer to suspension than stock 215/55-16s. The cars should have 235/45-17 tires, but with these being winter tires 225s are perfect. Diameter is slightly out, but only by 1.2%
