560 sl rims on my 83 280 sl
I will be needing new tires next season on my 1983 280 sl. It currently has the 14" bundt alloy rims. I was thinking of getting 15" tires and buying used 560 SL ,15 hole alloy rims.
I have seen many early 107's with the 15 " 560 sl alloys. I want to confirm that 560 SL rims will fit my 83 280 sl? Also the later 126 sedans used the same style 15 hole rims. Will they also fit properly on my 280 sl? I see a bunch of used sets for sale but don't buy ones that don't fit. Any help would be appreciated. thanks jz |

The ETs are in the same range (23-28mm) for both types of wheels. The 15s as used on W126 and R107 were made in 6.5" & 7" width. Either will clear just fine in the 107 wheel wells.

Good info as always Frank.
Thanks. The second part of my plan would be to install the 14" Bundts from the 107 onto my 113 that currently has the steel wheels and hub caps. I presume that is a proper fit. Question: Were the 14" Bundts available as an option on my 1967 250 SL or were they a later option on the 113's. I don't know for sure. jz |
