Adsit reproduction MB rims

Hello all,
My 1983 280 SL will be needing new tires this summer. It has 14 inch bundt rims now. I have been shopping around for 15 rims to improve the ride a bit.
I see that Adsit sells the 15 inch rims - the kind that were installed on the 560 SLs 86-89.
I like the clean look of those rims and at 150 bucks each the price seems reasonable. Plus I would install the 14 inch Bundts on my 113 which has hub caps.
I have never seen one in person, just the image on their website. I cannot tell if they are perfect recreations or do they differ in design somehow?
Also am I correct in assuming that if they are allowed to be sold and used in the USA that they had pass safely tests etc.
Has anyone purchased them or have seen them up close? I would welcome your comments.
thanks
jz

zakkkk, although I am not familiar with Adsit wheels be sure that any aftermarket wheels you buy are: 1) hub-centered, like all MB wheels, 2) have the same lug hole size and seat contour, and 3) will utilize the same length lug bolt as your existing lug bolts. Otherwise, you will need to purchase new lug bolts to maintain the same thread projection beyond the back of the wheel. If the lug hole size is larger than your existing wheels then you are out of luck.

Thanks Ferd, I will check those details and maybe this cheapskate will pull the trigger.
I look around for used sets, some 15 bundt repros. They are all expensive and not in NEW condition..

The wheels

are probably a lot more reliable than ADSIT is. Search poster's ADSIT experiences.

Replica wheels are available through TireRack, one of the forum's sponsors, and many other on-line tire and wheel sources at a better price than ADSIT. Last tires I bought from them were part of a tire-wheel package and I thought an excellent deal.

I would hold off and wait for 15" bundts if you could. That would really make the 280SL stand out.

If you really like the 86-90 style wheels, get mint condition original MB units instead. There are a lot of them around.

Or get Lorinser LO's.

Those are some nice wide ass wheels MBeige on that 300 SL of yours. Congrats.
So I said to myself what the hell and bought the ADSIT 560SL reproduction rims and a set of V rated General Altimax 205/65/15 tires from Tire rack.
Rims and tires were delivered to a local installer who has the super wheel balancer.
Not to mention the car looks great with the 560 rims, but the ride is amazing. I am not exaggerating. The difference between my 10 year old 14" tires and the new set up is like night and day. They really grip the road and minimize bumps. A real joy to drive. Even the steering response is improved.
Glad I did it.
If I know how to attach a pic I would.
thanks

Late response, but that's not my 300SL. I wish! lol

Glad to see you're now enjoying the ride. Must be the hardened rubber of 10-year old tires too.
