Hi,

I have another wheel question. Will the 97 E420 Rim 16x7.5 with tires that are Yokohama AVID V4 P215/55 R 16 fit on a 1995 C280? The offset on them is ET 41. Will they fit okay and hopefully make the car handle better? Please respond ASAP! Thanks

Troy

I am not sure if the wheel will fit perfectly or not becuase most of the 16x7.5 have an ET of mid to high 30s. Another problem would be the tire size. You need 225/50/16 as the best option, or 205/55/16 do just as well. However, the 215/55/16 are a little to tall, and would probably harm your handling instead of improving it.

I would advice something like the SLK/CLK rims will fit your car. For instance, SLK 16x7 will fit your car ($109/each refinished Original Mercedes) and tires would be 225/50/16 another $100. Together a package would be less then $1000, so keep that in mind when looking for wheel/tire packages.

Sorry,

the offset on the E420 rim is 41 mm. The offset on my stock C280 rims is 37 mm. Sorry about that mistake.

No problem, I kinda understood since I have the AMG/Mercedes Wheel catalog. I am not sure about the wheels, I think the offset might be a little to high and the wheels will be deeper in the wheel well then should be.
