Whats the largest tire size for 14" bundts
Hey guys, like the title says, I am curious as to what the largest tire size for 14" bundts is? I like the look of the bigger tires, but am hesitant on buying them due to potential problems like increased wear and rubbing when turning. Anyways, if anyone has any experience or information on the subject, i'm all ears. By the way, the car is an 82 300d
Thanks in advance, Drew |

I had 27x8.50x14R A/T tires on my car. Drove great, one of the best things that I ever did to it. I think I did lose 1-2 mpg but the engine also has 380K+ miles and it was getting weaker as it went.

It would rub if I hit a big bump as speed aka speed bump, curb or things of that nature. Which I tried not to do.

I dig the way those tires look. Just makes the car look bad ass. I think I have made up my mind and will be getting those tires. Thanks for the reply.
Thanks again, Drew |

I loved them, got me a lot of places that I had absolutely no business being in. Rode really smooth too.
Mine were General Grabber A/T2s, but I'm thinking about getting a set of these for the SDL when the time comes https://www.treadwright.com/individual-product/131/CRAWLER-235-75R15.00-C

I had a set of wheels and tires from A 6.9 ON MY 81 240D.
Tire size was 215/70-R14 on 6.5 inch bundts. Just barely cleared, there was a very slight occasional rub on the inside sidewall lettering (not all the way around) from the tie rod. Jim

Do check fender clearance at the top of the tire with the front wheels turned. You can get into trouble there even if the tire clears fine with the wheels straight ahead.
I rallycrossed my 300TD and had some spots where the suspension was fully compressed with the front wheels turned. The car had those silly chrome fender flares on it, and the front tires actually snagged them and bent them. This was with the stock 195/70R14s. The flares reduced the clearance a little, though; I think it would have been fine without those. An old trick is to use a broomstick or baseball bat to pry between the tire and fender, to push the fender rim out a little and fold the inner lip flat.
